The Tantra Vision and Why It Does Matter
What is the vision behind Tantra?
The vision is simple yet profound: you are the Consciousness that creates everything. You project everything within yourself, and this act of creation is nothing but the ultimate Bliss. But why are you creating all of this? The answer is: out of sheer bliss.
You project yourself outward, creating everything, and then you draw everything back into yourself. This eternal cycle of projection and absorption is the very essence of Consciousness, the very fabric of your existence.
However, you may wonder: “Wait a second, am I really creating everything?”
Yes, in one sense, you are. If you imagine a pink elephant right now, it appears in your mind. You have the power to create it instantly. But if you look at a green apple in front of you, you cannot simply decide that it should be red. The apple remains green despite your wishes. You may then argue: “I am not creating this reality; I do not choose most of what exists around me.
” So how can Tantra claim that you are the one creating and projecting everything?”
– The answer lies in understanding that you are not only a creator but also something much more. You indeed have the power to create, but you also possess another essential power: the power to exclude.
In Sanskrit, this power is called Apoha. Apana is the force of exclusion—the very ability that allows you to focus on what matters while filtering out everything else. Imagine yourself in a busy restaurant, surrounded by many conversations happening at once. Despite the noise, you are able to concentrate on the person in front of you. You exclude all other voices and distractions to focus on the one conversation that matters to you. This act of exclusion allows perception to happen, and perception itself is a form of creation.
This means that, in every moment, you are not just creating reality but also choosing what to exclude. And by doing so, you are constantly forgetting.
You are universal, boundless Consciousness, yet you have the power to forget who and what you truly are. You contract yourself into this individual identity, into the person you believe yourself to be at this very moment.
And this is why you experience both moments of immense joy and deep unease. At times, you feel deeply happy because, at your core, you are infinite, immortal, and one with the very source of the universe. But at other times, you feel a sense of lack, as if something is missing.
This unease arises because you, who are as vast as the ocean, are trying to fit into a single drop. This contraction—the forgetting of your true nature—is what allows you to live an individual life. Without this power of forgetting, there would be no individual existence.
So, in a way, life itself is a paradox, a cosmic tragedy. You are infinite, yet you have chosen to forget this infinity in order to experience a limited, individual existence.
However, the knowledge of Tantra is precisely the key to remembering who you truly are. It is the path that allows you to return to your original fullness—not by abandoning this life, but by realizing your boundlessness while remaining incarnated in this body. This is the unique aspect of the Tantric journey: You do not have to wait for death or renounce the world to rediscover your infinite nature. You can recognize it right here, right now, while still being fully engaged in human life.
This state of simultaneous transcendence and immanence is central to Tantra. In Sanskrit, this is called Jīvanmukti—being both free and fully alive, embodied in a unique personality while at the same time unbound and limitless.
This is the vision of Tantra.
To summarize: You are fullness itself, with the power to create everything. But you also have the power to forget this, and that is why you now feel powerless, as if you are not creating anything. In truth, you are constantly creating, yet at each moment, you also convince yourself that you are merely perceiving things that exist independently of you. This is the cosmic game you are playing—the game of living an individual life. And the promise of Tantra is to bring you back to your natural state—your fullness, your completeness—while still allowing you to remain a unique, individual expression of Consciousness. This dynamic process—expanding and contracting, forgetting and remembering—is like the beating of a heart. That is why Tantra is often compared to the heart of the yogin, both contracting and expanding at once. So this is the invitation of Tantra: To remember your vastness while remaining fully present in this human life.
This is what I invite you to explore. I hope to hear from you soon. And in the meantime, enjoy life!
